We are often called on to advise on Healthcare issues relating to children, particularly with regard to issues of confidentiality, access to records, capacity and consent to treatment.
We have significant experience of advising on these issues and the Children Act, both because of our healthcare experience and our role in acting as legal advisor to one of the largest national children’s charities.
Our range of services includes advising on the complex issues that can arise, particularly when families break up, and when necessary, obtaining Court Orders (or Injunctions) on specific issues as they affect children.
We are also able to advise on the complex issues that arise in child abuse cases, mental health or eating disorders. Amongst the cases we have been involved in include one of the leading cases in relation to an anorexic patient refusing feeding. We sucessfully obtained from the court, a declaration directing that the patient could receive nasogastric feeding.
